Do ya feel lucky, punk?

This morning my dad and I went to The Range. I’ve never fired a gun before, but my dad has and he’s knowledgeable. It was a lot different than I had expected it to be. Even with the ear protection, it was incredibly loud. Nothing like you see in the movies or on TV. The weapons of choice for us were a .22 bolt action rifle and a .38 Special (Smith and Wesson). I set up the target paper and started off with the rifle at about 50ft. This caliber was .22 short and felt like firing a BB gun. The bolt-action mechanism was fun to operate and it held about 20 shots. The revolver was NUTS. It seems like “small” gun but it packed a massive punch. We used .38 practice slugs and also hollow points. The hollow points we had were actually the kind used by law enforcement and are packed with extra grains of powder. (there was about a foot long flame out of the front of the gun when I used these rounds) I was also amazed at how inaccurate I was. Okay, Donald is here so I’m off to REI to buy climbing gear.
Semi-expensive, tight fitting, black rubber and synthetic fibers.

After stomping on my current pair of climbing shoes for about 5 months now, I’m starting to get a small hole on the left shoe near the big toe. (I’m told this should “blow-out” in the next few weeks) Because of the overall wear and because the shoe stretched slightly, making it less snug than it used to be, I’m in the market for new bouldering specific shoes.
Crash course in bouldering shoes: They fit very tight and should be on the verge of uncomfortable. An asymmetrical and down-turned toe is used to center your weight/power on your big toe so you can stick to the smallest of jibs.
I’ve narrowed down my search to 4 shoes. (in no particular order)

As I was flipping channels the other night at about 11:30, I came across a movie named “Bowling for Columbine”. The documentary, created by the infamous Michael Moore, looked into the issue of guns, and the crime related to them. It was interesting to hear a side to something that I don’t usually think about. (of course the film is in itself propaganda, but I tried to take the information for what it was worth) A statistic that stuck out to me was that there had been (when the movie was made) about 1 firearm related homicide in Canada in the past 3-4 years. And (if I remember correctly) there were about 11,000 firearm related homicides in the U.S. Why do people hate each other so much? I mean, honestly what is the problem? What the hell is wrong with these people?! Give me a break.
